Look at any website offering mortgage
licensing, mortgage training, or mortgage employment and you will
hear the same Pollyanna things over and over:
- Unlimited Income Potential
- Be Your Own Boss
- Set Your Own Hours
- And a Whole Bunch of Other Wonderful Benefits
of Being a Loan Officer or Mortgage Broker
Sounds
great doesn't it?
But in the news you hear the opposite. You hear about
homes not selling, loan officers being laid off by the thousands,
and banks and mortgage companies going bankrupt left and right.
The media wants you to believe the world is coming
to an end. Spoiler alert: it's not.
Yes, you can still make a very high income in the
mortgage business but only if you do it right, and it's not easy
at all.
99% of all loan offers DO NOT do it
right.
That's why over 50% of loan
officers last less than one year in the business.
I am sick and tired of new loan officers getting
into this business without any clue of what they are doing or
how they are going to generate any business. They then fail
prey to all the charlatans, and "get rich quick" hustlers
(and believe me there are a ton in this business,) get discouraged
and quit.
You need to know the inside truth BEFORE you get
into the business or at least AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
I feel that if you are going
to get in or stay in the mortgage business you need to know the
complete and honest truth, you need to know every pitfall and everything
that can go wrong so that you can be completely prepared.
